Elijah Moore Joins Buffalo Bills on One-Year Deal Worth Up to $5 Million
The Buffalo Bills have bolstered their wide receiver corps by signing Elijah Moore to a one-year contract valued at up to $5 million, as reported by NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Moore, 25, is coming off a season with the Cleveland Browns where he achieved a career-high 61 receptions for 538 yards and one touchdown, despite the team's 3–14 record.
Originally drafted by the New York Jets in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft, Moore's tenure in New York was marked by a promising rookie season followed by a tumultuous sophomore year, including a trade request and social media controversies. He was subsequently traded to the Browns along with a third-round pick in exchange for a second-round pick.
Moore's addition to the Bills comes amid scrutiny of the team's draft str
ategy, particularly their approach to strengthening the wide receiver position. General Manager Brandon Beane recently defended the team's decisions in a spirited exchange with local sports radio hosts.
Expressing his enthusiasm on social media, Moore stated, "Back in that red and blue. Time to go be GREAT. Grateful for the opportunity! Can't wait to meet BILLS MAFIA."
With Moore's signing, the Bills aim to enhance their receiving options alongside Khalil Shakir, Keon Coleman, Curtis Samuel, and Joshua Palmer, as they prepare for the upcoming season.
